MOTORCYCLE OIL ANALYSIS

Oil analysis has long been a common practice among car and truck owners who want to take the best possible care of their vehicles. But lately, an increasing number of people have been analyzing other types of engines too, especially motorcycles.

And why not? If you own a motorcycle, you want to keep it running as long as possible, and oil analysis is a terrific tool for doing so. We have seen samples from most of the motorcycles out there, and chances are good we've seen oil from your type of motorcycle engine. Submitting a sample will allow you to see how your engine stacks up to the rest.

Motorcycle engine oil is often unique, since the transmissions and/or other assemblies may share the crankcase oil. Though we often suggest that oil type doesn't matter in gas or diesel engines, bike engine oils often possess unique additive groups due to their multi-purpose functions. We scrutinize the additives in motorcycle oil as much as we do the wear levels.

In the past we have traditionally used the same oil slip for motorcycle engines as we do for car and truck engines. But we have created a special slip that you can print out and use for sending in your motorcycle sample. You don't have to use this slip, but if you want to, click here to print it out.
